Hundreds gather for funeral of Israeli hostage Oded Lifshitz killed in Gaza

Hundreds attended the funeral of Oded Lifshitz, an 84-year-old peace activist killed in Gaza captivity. His remains were returned to Israel last week after being abducted during Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. Lifshitz was among 250 people taken during the attacks. A forensic examination indicates he was killed shortly after his abduction. His body was returned alongside two young boys, Kfir and Ariel Bibas, who were also taken. The boys' mother, Shiri Bibas, was initially misidentified but was returned the next day. She and her sons are set to be buried on Wednesday. Their father was released alive on February 1.
