Human trafficking ring exploited Nepalese workers in Greece

iefimerida.gr (Greek)

Greek authorities dismantled a human trafficking ring that lured workers from Nepal to Greece with false promises of good jobs and living conditions. The organization used TikTok videos to recruit individuals, primarily from Nepal, promising excellent work and accommodation. Instead, victims were forced into agricultural labor without pay and subjected to deplorable living conditions, receiving only one meal a day. The ring recruited through Balkan countries and allegedly held victims captive by claiming they owed a debt for their travel, threatening them with police if they didn't comply. At least eight victims have reported the abuse, and six alleged members, including the suspected leader, have been arrested.
