Huawei surpasses Apple to become top smartwatch brand globally
Huawei has surpassed Apple to become the world's leading smartwatch brand, according to IDC's latest report. Huawei achieved a market share of 16.9% with 23.6 million units shipped, while Apple held 16.2% with 22.5 million units. This marks the second consecutive quarter Huawei has outperformed Apple. Huawei's market position has grown by 44.3% compared to last year, while Apple’s has declined by 12.8%. Other brands like Samsung and Xiaomi have also seen growth. Despite Huawei's lead in overall wearables, Apple still dominates the smartwatch segment. Huawei's innovative features, such as the blood pressure monitoring capabilities of the Watch D2, contribute to its competitive edge in the market.
