House committee submits 1,992 names for verification in OVP fund investigation

A House committee in the Philippines has submitted 1,992 names linked to the Office of the Vice President's confidential fund expenditures to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for verification. This follows ongoing investigations into the spending under Vice President Sara Duterte. The committee, led by Rep. Joel Chua, has held eight hearings on the matter. Chua noted that previous findings indicated that 405 of 667 names related to the Department of Education's confidential funds had no records with the PSA. The PSA's initial checks revealed discrepancies, including negative records for individuals named Mary Grace Piattos and Kokoy Villamin. The committee is seeking verification of civil registry documents for the individuals involved.
