Hough hires Beau Maye as basketball coach

Beau Maye, brother of former UNC basketball star Luke Maye and NFL quarterback Drake Maye, has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Hough High School in North Carolina. Maye, a Hough High School alumnus, played college basketball at UNC and replaces Dan Larkin, who had a 20-31 record in two seasons. The Huskies finished the 2024-25 season with a 13-13 record. Maye, who will begin coaching this fall after completing his master's degree, previously averaged nearly 13.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game during his senior season at Hough.
