Hamilton man indicted for multiple child sex crimes
A man from Hamilton, Ohio, has been indicted on serious charges related to child sex crimes. Roger Reed, 40, faces nearly a dozen charges, including two counts of rape and several counts of sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. The Butler County grand jury issued the indictment on Monday. It includes two first-degree felony charges of rape and other felony charges. The incidents are reported to have taken place between December 2019 and December 2024, with some victims under the age of 13. Reed appeared in court on Monday without a lawyer. He informed the judge, Greg Howard, that he plans to hire one. He received a copy of the charges against him and chose not to have them read aloud in court. During the hearing, the judge informed Reed about the serious consequences he could face if convicted. Specifically, the two rape charges could result in life sentences. Reed is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday morning for a hearing regarding his plea or to set a trial date. If he does not have a lawyer by then, the court will help him find legal representation.
