Hamas to return bodies of four Israeli hostages and release six living hostages this week
npr.org —
Hamas has agreed to speed up the release of Israeli hostages. It will hand over the bodies of four hostages on Thursday, including members of the Bibas family, and six living hostages on Saturday. The living hostages include Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed, held for nearly a decade. Israel will allow mobile homes and heavy machinery into Gaza as part of the arrangement. Negotiations for a future ceasefire and further hostage releases are ongoing, but the situation remains uncertain. There are still 59 hostages in Gaza, with nearly half confirmed dead.
