Hamas returns remains of hostages to Israel including mother and sons
The remains of Shiri Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, have been returned to Israel by Hamas. This brings the total number of hostages returned closer to the 33 expected under a ceasefire agreement. Oded Lifshitz, 84, was also identified among the remains returned. He was taken from Kibbutz Nir Oz during the initial attack on October 7, 2023. His wife was released in a previous ceasefire. Hamas had taken 251 hostages during the attack, with over 60 still believed to be in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with over 48,000 Palestinians reported killed.
