Hamas returns bodies of Israeli hostages under ceasefire agreement
Hamas has returned the bodies of four Israeli hostages, including a mother and her two young sons, as part of a ceasefire agreement. This marks the first time remains have been handed over during the ongoing truce. The hostages were abducted during Hamas's attack on Israel in October 2023. Israeli authorities will confirm their identities after DNA testing. The handover took place in Gaza, with Hamas claiming it did its best to protect the hostages. The ceasefire, which began on January 19, has allowed for exchanges of hostages and prisoners. So far, 19 Israeli hostages have been released, with negotiations for further exchanges expected to start soon.
