Hamas returns bodies of four hostages to Israel under truce agreement

Hamas has returned the bodies of four hostages to Israel, including two young boys, under a truce deal. This marks the first handover since the October 7, 2023 attack. The transfer occurred in Khan Younis, Gaza. The Israeli military confirmed the receipt of the bodies, which were handed over to its representatives. The hostages included Shiri Bibas, her sons Kfir and Ariel, and 83-year-old Oded Lifshitz. This handover is part of a ceasefire that began on January 19, following over 15 months of conflict. So far, 19 Israeli hostages have been released in exchange for over 1,100 Palestinian prisoners.
