Hamas returns bodies of Bibas family and another hostage to Israel
Hamas has returned the bodies of four hostages, including the Bibas family—Shiri, 33, and her sons Kfir, 2, and Ariel, 5—to Israel. This marks the first planned return of hostages since their abduction on October 7, 2023. The handover took place in Khan Younis, where Hamas militants displayed the coffins on a makeshift stage. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the day as heartbreaking for families who have waited over 500 days for news of their loved ones. In addition to the Bibas family, the body of Oded Lifshitz was also returned. Six living hostages are expected to be released on Saturday, marking a continuation of the fragile ceasefire agreement.
