Hamas releases bodies of four hostages including last female and child captives
Hamas has released the bodies of four more hostages, including the last female and child captives, bringing the total to 28 since a ceasefire began on January 19. The bodies are believed to include Shiri Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir. The ceasefire deal aims to free 33 hostages, with eight confirmed dead, in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Over 60 hostages remain in Gaza, with many presumed dead. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with over 48,000 Palestinians reported killed. Among the released were Oded Lifshitz, 84, and Yarden Bibas, whose family was taken during the October 7 attack. The remains of the Bibas family were reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike, a claim Hamas has made.
