Hamas ready to negotiate next ceasefire phase in Gaza
Hamas has announced its readiness to negotiate the next phase of the ceasefire in Gaza. This follows a recent exchange where Hamas handed over the remains of four hostages in return for over 600 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel. This exchange marks the final agreement under the current truce, which is set to end this weekend. Negotiations for a second phase, involving the release of more hostages, have not yet started. An Israeli group has confirmed the identification of three of the four remains returned by Hamas. The bodies belong to Ohad Yahalomi, Itzhak Elgarat, and Shlomo Mantzur, who was killed during the October 7 attack.
