Hamas holds 67 hostages in Gaza as negotiations continue
Hamas recently returned the remains of three Israeli hostages, including two children, as part of a ceasefire that began in January. A fourth body was misidentified as their mother, according to Israeli officials. Hamas had taken around 250 hostages during its attack on October 7, 2023. Currently, 67 hostages remain in captivity, with 31 declared dead by Israel. Six living hostages are expected to be released on Saturday in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. Additionally, five non-Israelis are still held, with two believed to be alive.
