Hamas exchanges hostages' bodies for 600 Palestinian prisoners

Hamas will hand over the bodies of four hostages on Wednesday in exchange for Israel releasing 600 Palestinian prisoners. The hostages include Ohad Yahalomi, who was abducted in October 2023, and Tsachi Idan, whose daughter was killed by Hamas. Israel has delayed the prisoner release since Saturday, citing concerns over the treatment of hostages. Hamas called this delay a violation of the truce and stated that further negotiations depend on the release of the prisoners. The bodies will be returned without a public ceremony, differing from previous staged events. Israel's Ministry of Health will assist in identifying the deceased at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
