Hamas delivered remains of four Israeli hostages

Hamas has released the remains of four Israeli hostages, identified as Shlomo Mansour, Itzhak Elgarat, Ohad Yahalomi, and Tsachi Idan. They were among eight captives taken during the October 7, 2023, attack that began the ongoing conflict. This release follows a breakdown in negotiations after Israel refused to exchange 620 Palestinian prisoners. Since the cease-fire began in late January, Israel and Hamas have been exchanging hostages, but tensions have risen over the manner of these exchanges. Hamas has previously showcased hostages in public displays, which Israeli officials have condemned. Forensic teams from Israel were present to identify the remains before they were sent to a forensic institute for further examination.
