Hackers exploit Amazon Appstore to distribute malware disguised as BMI calculator

Hackers are now using the Amazon Appstore to distribute malware, following increased security measures on the Google Play Store. A malicious app, disguised as a BMI calculator, was found to record screens and collect sensitive data. The app, called BMI CalculationsVsn, was uploaded in October and has since been removed after McAfee Labs alerted Amazon. Users who installed it need to delete it manually from their devices. To avoid malware, users should carefully check app ratings, reviews, and developer legitimacy.
