Gurgaon to restart weather station installation after delays and cost concerns

Gurgaon is set to restart the installation of weather stations after delays. The GMDA plans to add 26 high-density automatic weather stations and other monitoring equipment, increasing the project's cost to Rs 50 crore. Originally planned in 2021 for five weather stations, progress was slowed by bureaucratic issues and site approvals. The GMDA will now use its own sites to avoid these delays. Civil work began in August 2023 but was halted due to cost concerns. The GMDA will restart the tendering process and seek approval for the revised plan, which includes 18 additional weather stations.
