Gretchen Walsh sets sixth world record and wins fourth gold at world swimming championships

Gretchen Walsh of Team USA won her fourth gold medal and set her sixth world record at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest on December 13. She finished the women’s 100m individual medley in 55.11 seconds. Walsh, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, previously set her fifth world record earlier in the day in the women’s 100m butterfly heats. Her teammate, Kate Douglass, won silver in the 100m individual medley with a time of 56.49 seconds. The American team had a successful night, showcasing strong performances at the championships.
