Greece subsidizes businesses' variable electricity tariffs this winter
The government is providing subsidies for businesses on variable electricity tariffs from December 2024 to February 2025 to offset rising energy costs. This support aims to help businesses cope with increased electricity prices. The subsidies apply to businesses with a turnover of up to €10 million, covering over one million companies. The amount of the subsidy is €0.02/kWh, with the percentage of consumption covered varying based on annual turnover. Bakeries, confectioneries, and laundries will receive a €0.04/kWh subsidy. Businesses found guilty of electricity theft are excluded from the subsidies. The Minister of Environment and Energy stated the support aims to help businesses and is within EU guidelines.
