Granville teachers strike over student's return

europe1.fr (French)

Teachers at Lycée Julliot in Granville are on strike, protesting the return of a student expelled for death threats against a teacher. Ninety percent of teachers are striking because a student, previously expelled for threatening a teacher with death, is being allowed to return to the school. The decision was made by the academy in March, but a stay of execution was granted. The student, 17, made violent threats against the teacher on at least two occasions. Teachers are demanding the student be relocated to another academy, a proposal currently rejected by the academy and the student's parents.
