Grand Rapids bakery Van's makes pastries traditionally

Van's Pastry Shoppe, Grand Rapids' oldest bakery, continues to produce baked goods using traditional, century-old methods, including its signature English muffin loaf. The multi-generational bakery, founded in 1924, still makes its pastries by hand, without preservatives. The shop's English muffin loaves are a popular item, with 720 made weekly and distributed throughout West Michigan. Van's offers a variety of other baked goods, including donuts, sweet breads, and Dutch specialties. The bakery, located at 955 Fulton St. E, is open six days a week.
