Grand Detour house fire resulted in no injuries

A house fire occurred on Saturday in Grand Detour, but thankfully, no one was injured. The fire started around 4:41 p.m. at a home located at 8259 S. Main St. Firefighters from Dixon Rural and Dixon City, along with Advance EMS, quickly responded to the scene. They activated a box alarm to bring in extra help. When they arrived, crews found a significant fire on the front of the house that had spread to the attic. Firefighters worked diligently at the scene until shortly after 7 p.m. Assistance also came from firefighters in neighboring towns, including Rock Falls, Sterling, and others. The Ogle County Sheriff's Office and Com Ed helped as well. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the occupant or the firefighters.
