G.P. Raja Sekhar becomes Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University

G.P. Raja Sekhar has officially taken over as the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam. He succeeds Prof. Sashibhushan Rao, who served as in-charge since July 2024 after the resignation of P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy. Raja Sekhar, a senior mathematics professor from IIT Kharagpur, emphasized his commitment to academic and global excellence. He plans to address challenges such as faculty shortages and enhance research activities at the university. He aims to leverage technology and collaborate with the State government to achieve the goals of Vision 2047. Raja Sekhar also expressed a focus on nurturing student entrepreneurship during his tenure.
