Google TV now controls smart home devices directly

Google TV users can now control their smart home devices directly from their TVs thanks to the rollout of the Home Panel feature. This update allows for easy management of connected devices like lights and thermostats. The Home Panel, previously available only on newer Google TV devices, is now widely accessible on older Chromecast and Google TV models. Users can access the panel on the right side of their TV screens to control compatible smart home gadgets. The update, which began rolling out earlier this week, requires the same Google account used for Google Home. This feature is not available on children's profiles, and it includes notifications from devices like video doorbells.
