Google Gemini offers free Gems to all users

Users can also create their own custom Gems by providing specific instructions on what they want the Gem to do. This option allows for a more personalized chatbot experience. To access the custom Gem feature, users must visit gemini.google.com. The interface is user-friendly, making it simple to create Gems tailored to individual needs. Users over 18 years old can use these features across web and mobile apps. Recent tests with a fitness Gem showed it could generate effective workout plans, although some initial questions were missing. Still, it effectively considered health conditions, which many fitness apps overlook. In addition to Gems, Google has updated its Sheets program with new AI capabilities powered by Gemini. This update helps analyze data more efficiently, identifying trends and outliers, and can automatically create charts for easier understanding. Google also introduced Gemini 2.5 for paid users, promising improved reasoning and coding skills, as well as better handling of complex information. Although Google is catching up, it's worth noting that competitors like ChatGPT have already offered similar features to free users for almost a year.
