Google Assistant features removed for new AI, Gemini
Google is making big changes to its smart assistant, as it prepares to introduce Gemini. This new assistant will replace Google Assistant in the coming months. Many features of Google Assistant are being removed to make way for Gemini. One major change is to the Nest smart home products. Features like Live Translation in Interpreter mode will no longer be available. The Family Bell and Birthday reminder notifications are also being cut. Google Assistant is losing other functions too. Users will no longer be able to share photos with voice commands or adjust photo frame settings using their voice. For those who relied on daily updates about weather and meetings, these will now need to be set manually. Additionally, the Assistant will not work with Bluetooth or AUX accessories anymore. Google first launched Assistant in 2016. The company believes it is time to move on to a new assistant that uses advanced AI technology. In a blog post, Google explained that they are focused on creating the most helpful assistant possible with Gemini. While some features are disappearing now, they are expected to return in the future, likely within the new Gemini platform.
