GMA sues TAPE executives for estafa in Manila
GMA Network has filed an estafa lawsuit against current and former executives of TAPE, alleging the misappropriation of P37.94 million in advertising revenues. This action follows the end of a long-standing partnership between the two media entities. The complaint names several TAPE executives, including Romeo Jalosjos Jr., alleging they failed to remit advertising revenues as per a 2023 agreement. GMA claims the funds were used for TAPE's operational expenses despite multiple demands for payment. The lawsuit marks a further deterioration of the relationship, which previously involved a trademark dispute over the "Eat Bulaga" show. TAPE, which produced the show, is controlled by the Jalosjos family.
