Globo creates short telenovelas, inspired by Korean dramas

Globo is launching a new format of short telenovelas, inspired by the success of Korean dramas, aiming to boost its streaming presence. These shorter telenovelas will have approximately 60 episodes, each lasting up to 30 minutes, and will focus on fewer characters. The first of these "Brazilian doramas" will be a romantic story written by Walcyr Carrasco, premiering on Globoplay before airing on TV Globo. The new format is intended to attract both streaming and traditional TV audiences, airing at 5:30 PM. Globo will continue producing its longer, traditional telenovelas alongside this new initiative.
