Global firewall market grows 6.7% in Q3 2024 driven by demand for virtual solutions
The global firewall market grew 6.7% year-over-year in Q3 2024, driven by increased demand. While traditional appliances still dominate, their growth was slower at 5%, compared to Virtual Firewalls at 15.2% and Firewall-as-a-Service at 36.2%. Palo Alto Networks led the market with a 28.1% share, while Fortinet increased its share to 21.6%. Check Point's share fell to 10.8%, and Cisco remained stable at 12.3%. Network Firewalls rebounded by 5% after a decline last year. Virtual Firewalls saw strong demand, especially in cloud security, but quarterly growth slowed. Firewall-as-a-Service expanded to 4.2% of the market, with Palo Alto Networks holding a 49.9% share.
