In the past three months, officials have targeted 442 vehicles, impounding 343 of them and collecting fines totaling ₹2.08 crore. This operation involved the transport and mining departments. It focused on vehicles transporting construction materials such as stone chips, gravel, and sand from Rajasthan and Haryana into the area. Issues included overloaded vehicles, unclear registration numbers, and lack of proper coverings for construction materials. Officials also noted problems like expired fitness certificates and unpaid road taxes. Assistant regional transport officer Udit Narayan emphasized that overloading can increase accident risks, damage roads, and contribute to pollution.
