Gaza hostage-prisoner swap to proceed despite tensions over returned remains
A hostage-prisoner exchange in Gaza is set to proceed on Saturday, despite anger in Israel over Hamas returning the remains of two child hostages without their mother. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned Hamas for this situation. Hamas admitted a possible mix-up of bodies and confirmed it would release six living Israelis in the exchange. This swap is part of a ceasefire deal that has seen 19 living hostages freed in exchange for over 1,100 Palestinian prisoners. Israel plans to release 602 inmates, including many Gazans arrested since the war began. The exchange is the last phase of the current truce, which is set to expire in early March.
