Galaxy Z Fold7 will be Samsung's first Qi2 foldable

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 has been certified as "Qi2 Ready," making it the first foldable phone from the company to support the new wireless charging standard. This certification was found in the Wireless Power Consortium database. The Galaxy Z Fold7, identified by model number SM-D637U, will utilize the Qi2 2.1.0 standard. This "Qi2 Ready" implementation requires a magnetic phone case for proper alignment and charging, offering up to 15W wireless charging speeds. While the Z Fold7 will support Qi2, it's expected to maintain the same 25W wired charging and 4400mAh battery as its predecessor. Samsung is also developing faster wireless charging technology, potentially for future models.
