Future Party struggles as Liberals gain support

Cardy believes that their fresh perspectives could influence major parties like the Liberals and Conservatives. Despite the Future Party's efforts, recent developments have made it harder for them to gain support. Mark Carney, the new Liberal leader, has shifted the party towards the center, attracting voters who may have supported the Future Party. David Coletto, a pollster, noted that there is less room for centrist parties in today's political landscape. The Future Party has already participated in previous byelections but received less than one percent of the votes. Coletto pointed out that the political atmosphere, influenced by figures like Donald Trump, is demanding stability, which new parties struggle to provide. Cardy is critical of the major parties for not having strong plans to address issues related to Trump, especially regarding national defense. He says the election timing is challenging for the Future Party, which is still building its organization. They aim to run candidates in around 100 ridings, though they will not have candidates in every electoral district. Despite the challenges, Cardy remains positive. He plans to campaign actively, even using his small airplane to reach different communities. He is determined to make an impact and bring centrist ideas into the political conversation.
