Fresno police officer Ryan Torres dies from cancer

A Fresno police officer has died after a fight with cancer. Officer Ryan Torres passed away last Friday. The Fresno Police Department shared the news on Monday. Torres graduated from Clovis West High School. He started his career in law enforcement as a cadet in 2021. He served as an officer for over four years. Officials praised him for his empathy and kindness. He was known for being approachable and always ready to help others. Torres had dreams of becoming a SWAT officer. He was preparing for a team exam when he received his cancer diagnosis. Before his police career, he excelled in baseball and soccer at his high school. He is survived by his wife, Zoe.
