French SMEs neglect deadly professional road risks

Professional road accidents remain a leading cause of workplace fatalities, with 440 deaths in 2023, yet over 80% of small and medium-sized business leaders ignore the risk. A recent study reveals that only 18% of small and medium-sized business leaders identify road risk as a primary danger for their employees, a decrease from 25% in 2016. Most accidents occur on the commute to and from work. Despite the potential legal liability, only 29% of business leaders have implemented preventative measures, and a mere 3% plan to in 2025. Lack of interest and time are cited as primary reasons for inaction.
