Freed hostage regrets inability to protect family from attack

Freed Israeli hostage Yarden Bibas expressed sorrow for not being able to protect his wife and two sons, who were killed during Hamas's October 2023 attack. He spoke at their funeral near kibbutz Nir Oz. Thousands attended the funeral for Bibas's family, where Israel's national anthem was played. Their remains were prepared for burial in Rishon LeZion. The funeral of Oded Lifshitz, a peace activist who died in captivity, also took place recently. His wife, Yocheved, who was released after being kidnapped, spoke about the tragedy.
