Four hostages' bodies returned to Israel by Hamas
The bodies of four hostages, identified as Shlomo Mantzur, Tsachi Idan, Itzhak Elgarat, and Ohad Yahalomi, were returned to Israel by Hamas. This follows a recent exchange that also saw hundreds of Palestinians released from Israeli prisons. Under a ceasefire deal from January, all 33 hostages were to be released, with 25 alive and eight deceased. Currently, 59 hostages remain in Gaza, with only 27 believed to be alive. Negotiations for a second phase of the ceasefire have not started, and reports indicate that Israel will not withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor as previously agreed. Israeli officials have stated they will not allow Hamas to rearm.
