Four charged in Quebec organized crime operation
Quebec provincial police have announced that four individuals will face charges today related to organized crime. This follows a police operation in a Mohawk settlement called Kanesatake, located about 40 kilometers northwest of Montreal. During the operation, police arrested three men in their forties and a 31-year-old woman. They also seized drugs and weapons. A fifth person was detained but has since been released. The investigation began in the summer of 2024 and focused on illegal firearms and drug trafficking. Authorities targeted two homes and two vehicles as part of their efforts. The four suspects, all residents of Kanesatake, are set to appear in court soon in St-Jérôme, north of Montreal.
