Former DepEd officer testifies he distributed cash on orders from Vice President Duterte
Former Department of Education officer Edward Fajarda testified that Vice President Sara Duterte instructed him to collect bank details from school superintendents in Central Visayas to distribute cash. This admission came during a House investigation into alleged fund misuse. Fajarda confirmed he reached out to superintendents for their bank information, claiming it was for cash allowances related to fieldwork expenses. However, he noted that not all superintendents received funds, despite indications that many were contacted. Previous hearings revealed that other DepEd officials also received cash from Duterte, raising concerns about potential bribery, especially given her "no-gift policy" while leading the department. The House committee may call superintendents to testify further.
