Ford extends warranty to 10 years after EcoBoost engine investigation concludes

digitaltrends.com

Ford has concluded a two-year investigation into EcoBoost engine failures by agreeing to offer a 10-year warranty on affected vehicles. The probe began in July 2022 after reports of engine issues in 2021 Bronco SUVs. The investigation covered over 411,000 vehicles, including the F-150, Bronco, Edge, Explorer, and Lincoln models. It found that faulty intake valves could fracture and cause engine power loss. Ford previously recalled 90,000 vehicles for inspection but noted that many failures occurred early in the vehicle's life. The company will not replace engines but will extend the powertrain warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
