Firm partners with HMDA to restore Kokapet lake in Hyderabad

Gemini Edible & Fats India Limited has partnered with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and other groups to restore Kotha Cheruvu lake in Kokapet. The Rs 1.20 crore project aims to improve the lake's ecological balance and water quality. The lake has been affected by urbanization and pollution, including sewage inflow and excessive aquatic weeds. The restoration will focus on cleaning the lake and enhancing biodiversity using sustainable methods. Community awareness programs will also be part of the initiative to promote water resource management. Local involvement will be crucial for maintaining the lake after the restoration is complete.
