Firefly's Blue Ghost captures first lunar image
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost has captured its first image from the Moon, marking only the second private mission to achieve this milestone. The spacecraft landed near Mons Latreille, confirmed to be stable and upright. The mission, part of a NASA-industry partnership, carries 10 instruments, including a lunar soil analyzer. It aims to support the Artemis program, which seeks to return astronauts to the Moon. Blue Ghost is designed to operate for 14 Earth days and will capture high-definition images of a total eclipse on March 14. It will also record a lunar sunset on March 16, studying dust behavior on the Moon's surface.
