Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost successfully landed on Moon
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander successfully touched down on the Moon on March 2, 2025. This marks the second successful lunar landing by a private company, part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. The Blue Ghost landed in Mare Crisium, a lunar plain known for its unique terrain. Firefly released a video showing the lander's descent and dust clouds from its thrusters. The mission will last 14 days and aims to gather data to support NASA's Artemis program for long-term lunar exploration. NASA's next lunar landing, with the Athena lander, is scheduled for March 6.
