Firefly Aerospace prepares for lunar landing attempt Sunday
Firefly Aerospace is set to attempt a moon landing on Sunday with its Blue Ghost lander, in collaboration with NASA. This mission aims to study the lunar surface ahead of future human landings. The Blue Ghost, launched on January 15, carries 10 NASA experiments, including a drill to test lunar soil temperature. If successful, it will be Firefly's first landing and the second by a commercial company. NASA has funded several private companies to develop lunar landers, but results have varied. Some projects faced technical issues, while others have ceased operations due to costs.
