Firefighters controlled Idanha-a-Nova wildfire in Portugal

A wildfire in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal, was declared under control at 8:04 PM, after mobilizing significant resources. Over 170 firefighters and aerial support were deployed to combat the blaze. The fire, which started at 5:22 PM in the Vale de Covado and São Miguel de Acha areas, was nearing conclusion by 9:15 PM. Eight aerial resources were demobilized due to nightfall, with ground crews continuing efforts. The fire did not threaten homes or roads. Overnight, crews will remain to extinguish hotspots and prevent reignition.
