A fire destroyed balconies in a Potsdam apartment building overnight, causing them to collapse. No injuries were reported. The blaze, which began around 0:30 AM in the Otto-Hahn-Ring, caused balconies above the second floor to fall. Smoke spread to four apartments and the stairwell, prompting a large emergency response. Twenty people were assisted by rescue services, and four apartments are currently uninhabitable. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still under investigation.
