Fire breaks out in historic building in Weymouth

A fire has erupted in a historic building in Weymouth, specifically the Dorset Burger Company on King Street. The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service responded at 07:38 GMT with 60 firefighters on site. Road closures are in effect, restricting access to Weymouth Railway Station. People are advised to avoid the area, and bus services, particularly the CR8 route, are disrupted. Drones are prohibited from flying over the site until further notice. The building, constructed in 1871, was previously an eye hospital.
