FIR filed against Mithun Chakraborty for provocative speech at BJP event in West Bengal
Bidhannagar Police have filed an FIR against actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty for a speech he gave on October 27. The speech, made during a BJP event in Salt Lake, is considered provocative by the complainants. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the event, which launched the BJP's membership drive in West Bengal. Police are now investigating the matter. Chakraborty claimed the BJP would take control of West Bengal in the 2026 elections. He urged party workers to stand firm against intimidation from opponents. The BJP's state president called the FIR an act of political vendetta.
