FIR filed against Mithun Chakraborty for provocative speech at BJP event in West Bengal

Bidhannagar Police have filed an FIR against actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty for a speech he made on October 27. The speech, delivered at a BJP event in Salt Lake, is considered provocative by the complainants. The FIR was registered at the Bidhannagar South police station, and an investigation is underway. Chakraborty’s comments included a claim that the BJP would take control of West Bengal's government in the 2026 elections. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar criticized the FIR, calling it an act of "vendetta politics." Chakraborty had urged party workers to resist intimidation from opponents during the upcoming elections.
